Caroline’s promotion to big sister

I’ve already met Monroe and shot his newborn session!  I thought about combining the maternity and newborn for a single sneak peek, but that just didn’t seem right.  Each is an event in its own right, and each deserves it’s own moment.  I don’t think you’d even know from looking at these photos that Caroline hadn’t had a nap the day we shot this session.  I mean, we could tell during the session.  Haha!  But I’m going to go ahead and toot my own horn as well as Lauren and Mac’s… we did pretty good working with a toddler who hadn’t had a nap after 5pm!  High five, guys!

Ashley + Jimmy

I was honored to capture Ashley and Jimmy’s wedding.  The weather was very indecisive, and we ended up dodging raindrops at some points, but I don’t think it took anything away from their day.  They kept smiles on their faces and rolled with the punches with grace.  Their two local venues, First Presbyterian Church and the Imogene Theater were perfect, and they were surrounded by happy friends and family to help celebrate their day.  Sitting back as a spectator kept me smiling and laughing the whole time!

Congratulations, Ashley and Jimmy!  I couldn’t be happier for the two of you!

Cedric | Pensacola Senior Portraits

Before anyone starts, let me just say that I usually do NOT shoot on train tracks.  It’s dangerous as well as illegal.  But the only place Cedric wanted to shoot his senior portraits was at The Bluffs, and the train tracks are a big part of how he spends a lot of time down there, so I couldn’t just leave them out.  If you ask me to take children down there my answer will still be no, even if everyone else is doing it.

I work with Cedric’s mom, and we have been attempting to make this session happen since last fall.  There have been several rainy days and other scheduling conflicts since then, but we ended up with perfect weather and great light so I’m not even worried about it!  I knew we would make it happen before graduation.  I hope I did the location justice for Cedric.  His family is moving out of the area in a few months, so it was important to me that I incorporate this location for him as best I could.

Happy upcoming graduation, Cedric!

Rosie Crawls Away

I don’t remember ever having a six-month-old crawling at their session…  six months is my favorite because they can sit up independently but they can’t usually get away yet!  Well, Rosie decided she’s ahead of the game, and she was all over the place!  I think big brother Noah has been giving her lessons on how not to sit still during photos.  😉  Honestly, it didn’t even bother me.  Amy and Ben got the worst of it, chasing her down and returning her to the studio.  I’m used to catching lightning fast babies, and as long as they give me great smiles like Rosie did, I’m quite content to chase them!

These are fantastic!!! You are amazing, because she definitely tried to crawl away in every shot!

Norah says, Drool happens

If baby drool makes you cringe, then you should just stop right here and now.  We did everything we could during the session to keep the drool clear, and I’ve done what I can in post processing, but sometimes baby drool just happens.  And boy do babies make a LOT of drool!  Norah was a pro the day of her six month session!  But I still think she’s absolutely adorable, even when she does have a string of drool from her chin to the floor.  😉  All that slobber didn’t stop me from scooping her up for a few snuggles when we were done.  Nope, not one ounce of hesitation from me!
